The XRP Ledger (XRPL) has continued to expand in 2026, adding hundreds of thousands of new addresses during the first four months of the year.
According to data analyzed by MarketSleek from CryptoQuant on May 3, 2026, the total number of XRP Ledger addresses stood at 8,259,339 on May 1. That compares with 7,921,350 addresses on January 1, meaning the network added 337,989 addresses so far in 2026.
In April alone, the XRP Ledger added 67,198 addresses, rising from 8,189,798 on April 1 to 8,256,996 on April 30. That means the network added an average of approximately 2,317 new addresses per day during April.
Although April showed continued expansion, it was not the strongest month of the year for address growth. The largest monthly increase came in January, when the XRP Ledger added 94,916 addresses.
January saw the biggest XRP Ledger address increase
Month-over-month data shows that January recorded the strongest address growth so far in 2026.
On January 1, the XRP Ledger had 7,921,350 total addresses. By February 1, that figure had climbed to 8,016,266, marking an increase of 94,916 addresses.
February followed with an increase of 86,287 addresses, as the total rose from 8,016,266 on February 1 to 8,102,553 on March 1.
March then saw a slightly larger increase of 87,245 addresses, with the total climbing from 8,102,553 on March 1 to 8,189,798 on April 1.
April’s growth slowed compared with the first three months of the year, but the network still added 67,198 addresses by April 30, before rising further to 8,259,339 on May 1.
What XRP Ledger address growth means
Rising address counts are often viewed as a sign of broader network adoption, as they can indicate that more users, wallets, exchanges, or applications are interacting with the blockchain.
However, address growth does not necessarily mean that each new address represents a unique user. A single person or entity can create multiple blockchain addresses, while exchanges and institutional platforms may also generate large numbers of addresses for operational purposes.
Still, the consistent increase suggests that XRP Ledger usage and account creation remain active in 2026. The network has added addresses every month so far this year, with no monthly contraction recorded in the data.
XRP Ledger growth outlook
As of May 1, the XRP Ledger had crossed 8.25 million total addresses, extending its long-term growth trend.
The key metric to watch in May will be whether address growth accelerates again after April’s slower pace. If the network were to maintain April’s average pace of roughly 2,317 new addresses per day, XRP Ledger could add around 71,800 addresses over a full 31-day month.
